How to Embed YouTube Videos in Your Posts

Turns out it’s incredibly easy to embed YouTube videos into your WordPress posts. But it’s also quite difficult to figure out how! If you do a Google search trying to learn, you’ll find all sorts of old ways to do it and/or complicated ways to do it. Plugins and embed code and manually editing code. And it turns out none of that is necessary (anymore).

Step 1. Find a video on YouTube.
Step 2. Click ‘share’.
Step 3. Copy the link.
Step 4. Paste the link into your post. Just as plain old text. Just paste it in.

Now if it’s too big, you can change that this way:

Go into WordPress Dashboard->Settings->Media and change the width and/or height under the Video heading. That’s it!

I changed my width to 400 because that works well with my theme and is the right size for my netbook. I’ll test it later on a bigger screen, but I think it’ll be okay.
